Siya, a Brooklyn native continues to be versatile with her music as she dropped her Commitment EP just in time for Valentine’s Day. Premiered by Vibe, Commitment has a mixture of cloud rap and gauzy emotional confessionalism of Toronto-style rap-n-b into a unique blend, added with Siya’s force of personality. Before this EP, Siya released a Floetry-sampling song titled “Don’t U (Say Yes)”, a sexy and flirty slow jam featuring her R&B Money label boss, Tank. In her single “Front Door”, Siya dives into the complications of commitment and is surfaced with raw emotions over a snapping beat. Commitment EP is now available on all digital music stores and streaming services.
When talking to Vive about this EP, she says: ““Commitment came together because I knew I wanted to drop 3 albums between December and June. SIYAvsSIYA was my baby because it was my debut. Commitment is my way of letting my queens know they are loved and appreciated through my music. The next album I drop will be all street anthems, back to the block and my Bed-Stuy roots. I’m just grateful that I’ve been relevant for damn near two decades. I’m in it for longevity; nothing more, nothing less.” SIYAvsSIYA was a hard-hitting album that featured Sage the Gemini. The debut album was a equally mixture of street rhythms and wavy, electric love songs.
